Install from our packages.

omx-clap-host and plugin-hostd, the plugin hosts OpenMixer runs on, are signed packages for Fedora and Debian, on x86_64 and ARM64. The console itself is not published yet.

Install

Add the repository, install the packages.

Fedora 44, x86_64 or aarch64.

sudo dnf config-manager addrepo --from-repofile=https://freemixer.github.io/rpm/freemixer.repo
sudo dnf install omx-clap-host plugin-hostd

omx-clap-host

The CLAP host and omx-clap-scan, with the omx-clap-core library.

plugin-hostd

The plugin supervisor and its manual page.

-devel · -dev

Headers and pkg-config files, to build your own host against the same libraries.

The repositories and every package are signed with one key: RPM-GPG-KEY-freemixer, freemixer.asc.

Try it

Two commands after the install.

# Every CLAP plugin on this machine, with its parameters and ports.
omx-clap-scan

# The plugin supervisor. It speaks mod-host's protocol, so anything that
# drives mod-host drives it. It prints "plugin-hostd ready!" once it listens.
plugin-hostd -n -p 5555 -f 5556

Before a show

Read these two things first.

Getting started

documentation

It takes a fresh install from silence to one channel audible in the main mix. Everything else in the manual assumes you have done it once.

Read it before you open the surface.

The known limitations

honesty

The matrix does not carry audio yet, a show load is not a reset, delay alignment is not saved, and no control surface has been verified on hardware.

The full list is on the features page.

openmixer

A software mixing console for Linux. The desk is the software; the browser is the surface.
