Troubleshooting

One symptom per page. Find what you are hearing (or not hearing) and start there.

No sound

• The main output is silent — channels meter, the main meter moves, nothing comes out.
• The web UI cannot reach the server — the surface loads but says Demo (offline), or nothing you touch has any effect.

Bad sound

• Granulated or stuttery box audio — a stagebox that establishes cleanly but sounds broken.
• Xruns and driver election — clicks and dropouts, especially on a rig with an idle audio interface.

Missing things

• The stagebox is not establishing — no reac-capture, no box in the patchbay.
• The plugin catalog is empty — the picker offers nothing.

Bad state

• A poisoned autosave session — the console comes back broken after every restart, and a fresh boot does not fix it.

Before anything else

Three questions answer a surprising share of problems:

systemctl --user status openmixer-server reac-pw   # is it running?
pw-metadata -n settings | grep clock                      # what rate is the graph at?
ip -br link                                               # is the REAC NIC up, without an address?

And in the surface: the connection indicator in the header, and the telemetry panel's xrun counter and sample rate.
