A stable, comparable physical-input identity — the key that says "this stagebox /
reac-capture port" independent of any channel. Head-amp state is addressed by THIS (see
InputPatchbay), never per channel: two channels whose sources resolve to the same
key are a SPLIT of one physical preamp and share its phantom / pad / SENS. The
SourcePatch's two parts are joined by a NUL — which cannot occur in an adapter id
or an input reference — so the key is unambiguous.
