Where a source physically picks its signal up: an input on a named adapter. The
adapterId is the adapter instance (e.g. a REAC stagebox, an X32, the PipeWire
adapter); input is that adapter's own input reference (its enumerated input id —
see the adapters' input enumeration). Decoupling the patch from the channel is what
lets a stagebox be re-patched without touching the strip.
