    Interface AllocationProposalInput

    What proposeAllocation needs to answer: the desk today, its demand, its ceiling.

    interface AllocationProposalInput {
        current: ConsoleAllocation;
        declaredInputChannels?: number;
        demand: AllocationDemand;
        profile: ConsoleProfile;
    }
    Index

    The shape the console is declared at right now.

    declaredInputChannels?: number

    Every enrolled/declared stagebox's own input width, summed — independent of what is PATCHED. 2026-09-15: a third box (32 in) enrolled on a 64-input desk already holding 48 patched inputs, with nowhere free to patch it yet. demand.inputsUsing only sees what is ALREADY patched, so a floor derived from it alone proposed a desk too small for the very box the operator just plugged in ("never below what the boxes need") — the proposal derives inputChannels from the DECLARED topology (every box the desk knows about, patched or not), never from patched usage alone. 0 (the default) where the caller has no topology to offer, which keeps every existing caller's answer unchanged.

    What the desk is using — see AllocationDemand.

    The appliance the answer is capped through — the SAME ceiling a live write narrows by.
