The EQ control specs — each one its DECLARED travel from eq.ts plus how that throw maps and
reads, and nothing else. specOfLimit carries the bounds, step and unit across; the object
literal here may state only the taper and the format.
The declarations are the ones the store ENFORCES: clampEqGain bounds a band gain to
EQ_GAIN_RANGE, clampEqQFor a bell's Q to EQ_Q_RANGE, and clampFilterFreq each pass
filter to its own band. A spec typed independently of them draws a control that reaches where
the store will not follow.
HPF and LPF take SEPARATE specs because they have separate travels — 20…1000 Hz and
1000…20000 Hz, disjoint but for their shared edge. No single spec can be correct for both, so
there is no shared filter spec to reach for.
A NOTCH band travels further in Q than a bell (EQ_NOTCH_Q_RANGE, 0.3…116 — #116). The generic
param list has one spec per control id and no per-band-type variant, so band_q states the
bell's extent, which is the one every gain-carrying shape uses; a notch's extra reach is
reachable through the EQ row, not through the generic card.
