    Interface RestRequest

    One HTTP request, reduced to what the router needs. The host does the byte handling.

    body?: unknown

    The request body: an already-parsed JSON value (Fastify), a raw JSON string (node:http), or absent. Anything that does not end up a JSON object is a 400 on PATCH.

    method: string

    The HTTP method, any case.

    origin?: WriteSource

    WHO is asking, where the host can name them — carried onto the write so the journal can attribute it. The transport is the only layer that knows, and it is optional because a host that cannot say is better answering nothing than naming the wrong operator (2026-09-01-undo-history.md §7).

    url: string

    The request target as it arrived: path, optionally with a query string.
