    Interface TapPoint

    One named reference point in a strip's signal path.

    interface TapPoint {
        defines?: string;
        id: string;
        label: string;
    }
    Index
    defines?: string

    The processor KIND that DEFINES this point — the one that occupies its segment and cannot leave it. A ProcessorKind token; absent means the segment is free and anything may be attached to it.

    Pre-Fader and Post-Fader mean what they mean because the FADER runs between them; the same for the EQ and Pre-EQ/Post-EQ. Let the fader be dragged to the head of the chain and the two names stop describing anything — which is precisely what the old flat model allowed, and what "it makes no sense to reorder the pre-fader and post-fader" refuses. So the definer is pinned: the normaliser puts it back, and the door refuses to move it.

    It is DATA, per point, per desk: a skeleton whose fader sits elsewhere says so here, and no code changes.

    id: string

    The wire token (Pre-Fader), stable for the life of the set.

    label: string

    The desk's own spelling of this point (Roland prints PRE FADER, SSL prints its Stem feed points differently again). It is the manufacturer's label, not translatable prose: a surface shows it as-is, the way a unit symbol is shown as-is.
