High-pass edge on the DETECTOR, Hz; 0 = off.
Feed the FILTERED DETECTOR to the cue bus, PFL-style — hear what the gate reacts to.
Low-pass edge on the DETECTOR, Hz; 0 = off. Both engaged together make a band.
The channel whose signal the detector listens to; null = this channel itself.
WHAT a gate's DETECTOR listens to — the KEY.
A gate normally opens on the signal it gates. Keyed, it opens on somebody ELSE's signal (the kick channel that lets the bass through, the snare top that confirms a real hit) or on its own signal through a FILTER — the tom that ignores the kick sitting in another band, and the vocal mic that ignores its neighbour (the operator's ruling 2: "per vocal" is detection by frequency first). What changes is what the DETECTOR hears; the fader still carries the channel's own full-range audio.
These fields do NOT join GateState: that lives in the dependency-free
@freemixer/ catalog, pure curve maths shared with the widget, and a ChannelId reference is neither a curve nor dependency-free.source: nullis SELF, and it is the ABSENCE value rather than a disabled state (spec §3.1): a channel whose key nobody has pointed anywhere already detects on its own signal, so turning the voice band on is the whole of what the per-vocal case needs.
