One field's declaration, as this sheet states it — always a REFERENCE, never a number.
Two spellings, because a row has two shapes of declaration to point at and both are the one
source of the number:
codec — the very codec the row narrows with, when the row names one (FBS_HOLD_CODEC,
PAN_CODEC). Its limit and values ARE the travel.
limit / values — the declared range or member set the row builds its codec FROM
(DRIVE_AMOUNT_RANGE, GATE_LIMITS.attackMs, DRIVE_CURVES), where naming the codec would
mean exporting a wrapper that exists only to be named here.
perInstance says the travel belongs to the INSTANCE (a preamp's gain span, an EQ band's Q, a
bus's own format offer), so no number may be published row-wide; a VOCABULARY still may be,
because a codec's members are fixed when it is built.
