Every run in a model whose come-up gain declaration is incomplete — the DEV-TIME gate of
an internal spec's amendment.
Not a door. A box whose declaration is incomplete is still accepted at runtime and given
the house mic default with provenance assumed (operator, 2026-09-07: "we need to detect and
set a sensible default, not refuse to register") — a console that refuses to register a
stagebox because a number is missing from a table is worse than one that guesses out loud.
What this exists to stop is OUR OWN declarations sitting on that guess:
stagebox-declaration-conformance.test.ts walks every model in the tree and requires an empty
list, so a new adapter cannot arrive without one and nobody has to remember.
A stagebox is ONE entity whatever its transport (2026-08-22-stagebox-identity-and-device-model.md
§1), so this walks a Roland box, a Babyface and whatever arrives next through the same code and
branches on nothing but what each run declares.
