    Function reorderAllowed

    • Whether the appliance's ProcessingOrderMode PERMITS a reorder that changes the relative order of two processing stages a and b — the gate that makes processingOrder real (the server rejects a chain.reorder / chain.swapEqDyn this returns false for):

      • fixed → no reorder is allowed (the chain runs in its declared order).
      • dynEqSwap → only the EQ↔dynamics relative order may change (Midas / Roland — the classic DYN/EQ swap); every other reorder is rejected.
      • freeReorder → any reorder is allowed (the openmixer default).

Midas' additional gate-before-comp rule (DynamicsProfile.gateBeforeComp) is a SEPARATE constraint on the gate↔comp order, enforced alongside this by the caller — it is not folded in here so this stays a pure order-mode predicate.

      Parameters

      • profile: ConsoleProfile

        the active console appliance

            | "delay"
            | "reverb"
            | "insert"

one stage kind whose relative order the reorder changes

        the other stage kind

      Returns boolean

whether the reorder is permitted by the appliance's processing-order mode
