    Function driveTransfer

    • The stage's transfer function for one sample of LINEAR amplitude, full band, no auto-gain.

Both topologies are written as dry + mix·delta, which is the kernel's own form and not a cosmetic choice: at mix = 0 the whole wet path is multiplied by exactly zero and the dry sample is returned untouched, so "mix 0 is bit-identical dry" is true here for the same reason it is true in the C.

      • crossfade (soft/tape/tube): delta = shaped − dry, the driven signal faded against the clean one.
      • parallel (exciter): delta = shaped, the driven signal ADDED on top of the full dry signal — what makes an enhancer an enhancer. At full band that is the whole difference; the exciter's band seed is a frequency choice this function cannot draw.

trimDb is applied last, as the stage applies it.
