The composed linear gain of a DCA master including its parents (VCA nesting): master · Π parentEffective. Cycles in the parent graph are broken (a group never counts itself twice) so a mis-configured loop degrades to a finite product rather than recursing forever.
Parameters

  the DCA group to resolve
- byId: ReadonlyMap<string, DcaGroup>
  all groups keyed by id
- seen: ReadonlySet<string> = ...
  ids already on the resolution path (cycle guard); callers pass none
